So I'm finalizing my baggage and this guy decides he wants to come along :)
I'm very nervous about the "unknown" but at the same time excited and proud that I'm doing this. Thankfully, I have things to read on the flight (thank you, Jess) and I also have a camera (thank you, brother) that I can play with and take pictures of the land/sky with.
My things are bit large, I hope the weight is alright. I replaced my two towels with 6 shamwows which opened up a lot of space and hopefully took out some ounces. I suppose I'll miss the softness of towels, but shamwows are too efficient to complain about.
I'm going through everything in my head and I'm sure I've forgotten at least 32249 different things, but in the orientation yesterday they made a valid point: People survive there with much less than I'm bringing. So, I've got the basics and anything I'm missing I'll just find a way to function without.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible, my Dad especially. I appreciate every minute of talk, every hug, every spare room/couch for the night, and every generous penny from everyone. Thank you.
Perhaps I can report back from Paris next.
